Severe Weather Possible Wednesday

NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 News) ― A cloudy Tuesday evening is on tap and occasional showers are possible. But severe weather is not expected to develop. Temperatures will stay in the 70's the rest of the evening with a southerly wind at 15 to 25 mph.

The upper-level low that is currently over southern Arizona and Northern Mexico will be moving right overtop of Texas late Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning.

As the upper level draws closer, storms will develop in West Texas. In fact, storms are already developing this evening in West Texas. Those storms will be moving into North Texas in the early morning on Wednesday.

Starting as early as 5 a.m. Wednesday, storms will move into our western counties. These storms will likely be very strong, if not severe. These storms will likely be in the form of a squall line, but along that squall line we could see bowing segments which will cause very high winds.

Quick spin up tornadoes are possible tomorrow as well.

Temperatures will be in the upper 70's with winds brisk out of the south in the morning then west in the afternoon.

Thursday through Saturday will be hot and dry. Temperatures will be in the 80's on Thursday but warm into the 90's on Friday and Saturday. The humidity level will also be high so it will feel very muggy.

Another cold front will move into the area Saturday night. There is just a small chance of storms with this front because most of the upper level support will be well to our north and east.
