Rainy, Cloudy, Wet Weather For Monday & Tuesday
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
CLOUDS, FOG, DRIZZLE, LIGHT RAIN PLAGUE TODAY
Chance of Heavier Showers and Thunderstorms Tomorrow
MONDAY
As moisture rides up and over the shallow layer of cool air here at the surface, we continue the low clouds and drizzle. Upper air disturbances rolling in from the southwest will provide occasional lift for off and on light rain showers. We won't be seeing any sunshine today and we'll stay on the cool side. Look for high temps to only climb into the lower to mid 60s. Chance of light rain today is 30%.
MONDAY NIGHT
Clouds will continue and fog and drizzle will develop again by sunrise as a warm front creeps to the north from along the Gulf Coast. Look for steady or slowly rising temperatures into the mid 60s. A stronger upper level disturbance will begin to move in from the southwest, triggering heavier rain showers by morning.
TUESDAY
As the stronger disturbance moves overhead and the warm front hangs in the area, our rain chances will be around 70%. Some of the rain could be heavy at times, but we're not expecting widespread severe weather. Because we have already seen so much rainfall the past few days, it won't take a whole lot more rain to create problems, so our biggest problem, potentially, will be flooding. Rainfall amounts look to be 0.50" to 1.50" across North Texas.
WEDNESDAY
The rain should be heading out of North Texas by morning. We'll leave a small rain chance for the morning hours. Warm, humid air will quickly rush into North Texas and give us high temps in the mid 80s. We should see a few breaks in the clouds by afternoon as well, leaving us with a very sticky, muggy afternoon.
The weekend is looking great, though, as sunshine and low-humidity air return!
