Finally! Wet Weather In North Texas

NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Rainy weather is back in the forecast for North Texas with a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms developed in the western counties and moved back into the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area Friday morning. With roads already wet, some ponding occurred in lower-lying and poor drainage areas.

Parts of North Texas have already seen nearly two inches of rain.  No severe weather is expected, but heavier pockets of rain could aggravate flooding problems.

There's a 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today.

North Texas skies are mostly cloudy with highs expected in the low-90s and overnight lows around 70 degrees.

The weather pattern will remain as is this weekend, allowing for periods of rain and thunderstorms, at times which could be heavy.  Don't expect rain from sun-up to sun-down…but do plan on more indoor activities than outside fun this weekend.

Off-and-on showers and thunderstorms can be expected Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and even into Wednesday as we enter a very unsettled weather pattern.

Weekend highs will stay in the upper 80s to near 90!  Some locations could see up to 5" of rainfall by the beginning of next week.
