Severe Thunderstorms Move Through North Texas
NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Heavy thunderstorms rolled through North Texas Tuesday afternoon, bringing 60 mph winds, hail and driving rain.
Dallas, Collin and Ellis counties were all under a severe thunderstorm warning as of 2 p.m.
Because of the severe weather Dallas/Fort Worth Int'l Airport is experiencing departure delays of more than an hour and minor arrival delays.
The storm also dropped hail in the Fair Park and Deep Ellum areas of Dallas.
The National Weather Service also warned that the storm could cause flooding in low-lying areas.
If you come upon a flooded area, do not drive into it.
The depth of water across a flooded road can be difficult to gauge, and it only takes a small amount of water to push a car off a road.
A tornado watch remains in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
