Scattered Rain This Morning, Hot Weather Continues
NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
TODAY
Heavy rain continues in counties along the Red River this morning. Some spots have picked up 2 to 4" of rain. Scattered storms have been slowly drifting to the southeast and have moved in to parts of Denton, Collin and Wise counties as well.
Just after 10:00 am there were reports of 40 mph wind gusts and pea sized hail in western Collin County, near Frisco. The storm in that area is moving slowly eastward.
There is no severe weather expected in North Texas, but some minor street flooding is possible in the Red River counties.
Overall, the rain chances will be around 30-40%...better chances obviously farther north.
Outside of the rain areas, look for another hot day, while not in the triple-digits, look for a high temperature near 96.
