Hottest Week Of The Year So Far In North Texas
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
It's been the hottest week of the year so far. Temperatures all this week will range from 98 to 102 degrees; with heat index values approaching 105 degrees each afternoon.
MONDAY NIGHT -
Mostly clear skies with temperatures dropping into the upper 70's.
TUESDAY -
Mostly sunny and hot again with a high of 99.
WEDNESDAY - THURSDAY
Mostly sunny with a high of 100 degrees. There could be a very isolated shower developing in East Texas and also near Waco and Tyler, but 95% of North Texas will stay dry.
FRIDAY - SUNDAY
Sunny and hot with temperatures in the upper 90's and low 100's.
Average high temperature for this time of year is 93 degrees - so we are well above average.
Want to go somewhere cool? Head to Boston. So far this month they have had only one day with a high temperature in the 80's. How about Phoenix? They have had an unusually cool June. Phoenix has had a 14-day stretch where the temperature has not reached 100 degrees.
Tropical development? There is a disturbance in the southern Gulf of Mexico. If this were to stay over water for another 48 hours it could develop into a tropical low. Nonetheless, it will bring some heavy rain to the coast of Mexico and maybe send some rain into extreme south Texas.
