Still Cloudy And Wet, But Warmer For The Weekend
(CBS 11 / TXA 21)
Light rain and drizzle is falling to the south and east of Dallas/Fort Worth. A lot of this is not reaching the ground.
When you see it on the radar it looks heavier, but the air at the ground is pretty dry so the rain is evaporating as it falls from the clouds and before it reaches the ground in a lot of places.
There will, though, be light rain showers continuing well into the evening and overnight, mainly areas from a Sherman to Fort Worth to Meridian line and east. Temperatures are cool and will stay cool for the next 36 hours.
The cloud cover and the rain will exit on Friday and some sunshine will return for the weekend. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 80's on Saturday and probably peak in the low 90's on Sunday ahead of another cold front.
The next cold front is expected to arrive Monday, but unlike this Monday's cold front, no rain is expected from this front as all the upper level disturbances will be well to the north. This front will knock temperatures down a little and bring in some drier air. It should be quite pleasant and fall like for most of next week with highs around 80 degrees and overnight lows in the 50's.
Here is what to expect for the next few days:
TONIGHT
Cloudy and cool with light rain mainly south and east of DFW. Low of 58.
TOMORROW
Cloudy with light to moderate showers all day. High of 74.
FRIDAY
Mostly cloudy with lingering rain mainly in the morning, the some sunshine in the afternoon. High of 83.
SATURDAY
Dense fog in the morning, then becoming partly sunny and warmer with a high of 87.
SUNDAY
Mostly sunny and warmer. High of 91.
MONDAY thru WEDNESDAY
Mostly sunny. Highs near 80. Lows in the 50s.
