Intermittent Showers, Few Storms To Continue

Strongest Cold Front So Far This Season on Tap for the Weekend

(CBS 11 News) Pockets of rain will continue to move over the DFW area -- although nothing severe is expected before noon.

So far this morning, most of North Texas picked up at least half an inch of rain with some areas getting more than one inch.

We should see a break in the rain overall by midday and then more storms firing up later this afternoon and evening as a cold front rolls in from the northwest. Some of the storms that develop later today have a slight chance of becoming severe.

Most of North Texas is under a Slight Risk for Severe Weather later this afternoon for the possibility that some of the storms could produce very heavy rainfall, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

Look for the scattered rain and storms to wrap up by tonight. Highs today will be in the lower to mid 80s.
