Addison Dining 'Perk' Program Offers Big Savings
ADDISON (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Autumn Reo of Arlington is a working mother who enjoys dining out for lunch, her Addison office. So when she heard about Addison's restaurant savings program, she immediately signed up.
"It's always nice to save a dollar here and there and definitely look for the places I've never been to or the places that are our favorites to go to," said Reo.
Addison town leaders are encouraging even more sampling of local businesses through a new program called
Addison Perks.
Deputy City Manager Lea Dunn says the town was looking for ways to help businesses survive and give people a reason to keep coming to local restaurants. "It's a great program and it's a program everyone ought to belong to. We felt it was a way to allow people to taste the different offerings and do it in a way that they didn't have to spend a fortune."
You don't have to live in Addison to sign up for the program and it doesn't cost anything to become a member. Each month, you'll get an email with a list of local restaurants offering deals. "You print out the coupon, take it to the restaurant and the restaurant will redeem it. It's that simple," explained Dunn.
In the month of June, patrons at Two Rows Restaurant can buy one entree and get another for half price. Two Rows partner Mike Brotzman says, "We have a lot of customers coming in on a daily basis telling us they've been laid off or reduced and we want to be part of the solution."
Brotzman says the deals attract new customers and keep their loyal ones coming back. 'These are difficult times so we're doing what it takes to make it work."
At the Flying Fish in Addison, director of operations Ken Vaughan says patrons are looking for money saving discounts. "Customers are much more value driven these days."
To help, the Flying Fish is offering
Addison Perks members a buy one, get one free deal in the month June. "It's been a tough economic year for a lot of people and it's our way of giving back to those people and creating our own economic stimulus package if you will," said Vaughan.
Addison Perks also offers weekend getaway deals at local hotels; for families who want to stay in town for events like Kaboom and Taste of Addison.
Currently the Town of Addison is also looking at expanding the program to local retailers.
