Dallas To Offer Free Money-Saving Kits
DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
The City of Dallas is offering homeowners and some renters a chance to lower their utility bills. Dallas will hand out free kits with quick and simple fixes for homes, rental properties and apartments.
The kits offer both home energy efficiency and water conservation options.
According to a news release from the city, the kit comes in a reusable Green Dallas shopping bag. It is filled with items including compact fluorescent bulbs, a low-flow shower head, clear window tape and draft stoppers.
There are requirements to get the bag. You must be a Dallas city resident. Also, you have to sign up and attend one educational seminar. Residents also agree to have their power usage tracked.
To sign up for the program, people must send an e-mail to the city at this address:
GreenDallas@dallascityhall.com. In the subject line, type "Kit Sign Up." In the e-mail, include the following information: name, address, phone number, e-mail address and which seminar you will attend.
