Trade Old Clothes In For Fabulous New Fashions

DALLAS (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ― Serita White, a North Texas entrepreneur, saw a need and started a business to fill it.

"I had no money, and I needed clothes. It's as easy as that," she said. "I had a lot of things that I didn't want anymore and that I wasn't going to wear, and I thought, 'They're as good as gold. They're as good as cash. If I could just find other women in the same situation as me.'"

Now clothing swaps are popping up all over the country. For just $25, guests at the clothing swap get spa treatments, homemade food and access to thousands of dollars worth of other people's clothing.

Consumers have access to the same amount of clothing items they bring into the swap.

"Most of the things I personally have to swap, I think they're rocking; I think they're great. I wish I could still fit in them, or I wish I had the perfect piece to go with them. I just never acquired it," said White.

Swaps include household items, plus size clothing, accessories, kids' items, costumes and formal wear.
