FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ― If the recent tomato recall has you on edge about buying produce from the stores, one solution may be to go pick your own.

There are other advantages too. Farm fresh produce is healthier, fresher and in some cases cheaper.

Some experts also say they can save you save on the packing and shipping costs.

But no matter what the advantage, everyone agrees that a trip out to one of our local farms can be a fun and educational excursion for the whole family.
