Some Area Companies Offering Employees Gas Relief
FORT WORTH (CBS 11 / TXA 21) ―
Human resource experts say the cost of gas is revolutionizing the workplace. Employees are hurting, and companies are responding with innovative solutions that ease the pain.
Employees at Jobing.com, for instance, have the chance to get their car wrapped with an advertisement that markets their employer. The program provides employees a $500 a month stipend and reimbursement for all of their gas expenses.
After six months on the job and meeting certain performance goals, employees with a clean driving record can qualify.
At the American Heart Association's national headquarters on Greenville Avenue, the 850 employees can opt for a condensed four day work week and work from home to save on commuting costs.
The organization has also started a car sharing blog. Employees who take DART Rail to Walnut Hill can use a free shuttle bus to the office, eliminating a long walk from the station.
Workforce magazine, a publication for human resource managers, says these moves are the beginning of a workplace revolution where productivity will be the key measurement rather than the number of hours employees work.
If your company is offering employees money saving relief from record gas prices, we want to know about it.
