Polish company Archon is now cooperating with Ubisoft working on a board game version of this popular classic strategy! Still, you have to wait a bit until the game will be released on the market.
What do we know about the Heroes of Might and Magic III board game now?
The game is under development right now, however, there are several details which are already known.
First of all, the designers are planning to add three fractions to their board game. Two of these fractions are already know. They will be Inferno and Castle. The third one might come as a surprise to many people, however, any fan of Heroes of Might and Magic III has a chance to participate in the choice of this fraction since the developers of the game are planning to choose it by voting.
Of course, you might be wondering about the game mechanics of this board game since the original video version of Heroes of Might and Magic III is a combination of a strategy and tactics. All of this will be in the board game as well. You will be able to enjoy the exploration of the world as well as the chess-like combat system traditional for Heroes of Might and Magic III.
You might be wondering in which way the game designers are planning to create the effect of an unknown map. Indeed, the video game starts with a rather small amount of the map surrounding the town of each hero visible and the exploration allows a person to see the whole picture. In order to add the same effect to the board game, players will have to expand the map surrounding the towns by building them with special elements.
How many heroes will be available to the players of the board game?
The designers of Heroes of Might and Magic III are not planning to create the same variety of heroes which is available to the players of the video version of the game. As you have learnt in the previous part of the article, there will be three fractions in Heroes of Might and Magic III. Actually, only two heroes will be available for each of the fractions. Fractions will also have their typical creatures just like they do in the video version of the game.
The game will include a great number of cards needed for playing as well as over thirty detailed figurines representing heroes and creatures. Although not all of the creatures available in video Heroes of Might and Magic III are available to the players of the board game, the entire collection of them will be over thirty items.
What is about skills of the heroes?
Certainly, one of the major parts of Heroes of Might and Magic III is learning new skills. This will be available to the players of the board game as well. The designers are also planning to add a set of artefacts which are known for their unusual abilities making the game especially exciting.
All of the skills can also be acquired by heroes. There will also be a possibility to study magic.
When should you expect the release of the Heroes of Might and Magic III board game?
The board game is now under development. In a year, on November 2022 Archon is planning to use Kickstarter for crowdfunding. You will also be able to use the service for ordering the game.
